I Love My Daddy

The Not So Kingly Play Mat

I bought a little mat thing for Talon! At the store all of the mats were 50+ and since I was not a fan of that price range I continued looking until I found a not so impressive but adequate version of the real thing. You can see the little crown hanging in the first picture. When squeezed it plays a little tune.. errr.... played a little tune. Once! The words are all in Spanish (I think that is why I got it for $15) and it is very basic but it works for us! He was not a huge fan but we are hoping he learns to appreciate it in time!

First Plane Ride

We flew home from Georgia because Grandma had driven out to Texas and we rode there with her. Talon did so well at the airport and on the plane. What can I say I have the perfect baby!!!

He rode around on a SmartCart

I changed his diaper at the terminal...we pulled the luggage around to hide him

I was covering up spit up with my arm because it was unfortunately in an awkward place

Our carry-ons

Dad had a cold so we had to wait at the airport for an extra hour and a half while he drove around to find a mask. It was a long day but we had fun!

The Way He Sleeps

Talon loves to fold his arms and sleep in the crack. I don't know how he figured this out but I have never seen a baby sleep like this. So cute!!!!

First Big Car Trip

We went to see all of the Georgia people a few weeks ago. That is 15 hours with a five week old. I was so glad to be around all of the people who love and care about us! Doug did not get to go but Tal and I went drove back with Mom and Grandma. Talon was amazing the whole trip. He barely cried at all and only when he was hungry.

Whenever he was done with the passy he spit it out!

Talon's Diagnosis

Talon was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis on Monday June 7th, 2010 at 11:17am. This is the last time that I will directly address his diagnosis on this blog because CF has nothing to do with who he is but is only something that he will have to deal with everyday. This blog is to follow his life... not his condition.

Talon does not have CF... instead we are claiming everyday that he is in the process of being healed from it. We accept the reality of today but look forward to his future without Cystic Fibrosis.

A very special girl in Talon's life nicknamed him The Eagle when he was born (Talon...eagle). An eagle knows when a storm is coming long before it arrives. He will fly to a high spot and wait. When the storm arrives, the eagle uses the wind to lift him high above the storm. While the storm rages the eagle soars above it. The eagle does not escape the storm but simply uses the storm to lift itself higher.

But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
